Our German client is one of the world's leading manufacturers of conveyor belt technologies. The company is successfully covering multiple business segments, which are being manufactured in almost 30 different production facilities and promoted through numerous sales entities throughout Europe, Asia and America.

As Business Development Manager, you will be the first employee of our client constantly based in the UAE, ensuring the establishment and further development throughout the Middle Eastern region. The opportunity offers great exposure and the potential to significantly grow within the organization by leaving a footprint in the GCC.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Active establishment and expansion of our client's market position and their business segments throughout the Middle East
  • Implement country-specific sales and market entry strategies as well as profit forecasts 
  • Identify and develop prospective clients, distributors, partners and consultants
  • Conduct independent target, price and tender discussions
  • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements, developing proposals and negotiating contracts
  • Maintain contact with all assigned customers, distributors and potentials by self-organized visits and excellent support
  • Compile and coordinate technical clarification, troubleshooting and processing of complaints
  • Ensure work procedures are followed in accordance with company and customer requirements
  • Analyze market trends and conduct feasibility studies with regard to investments
  • Regular coordination and reporting with/to the German HQ


To be successful in this role you should have the following skills and experiences:

  • Technical university degree or similar qualification
  • At least five years of relevant experience in sales, business development and key account management within the Middle East
  • Industry and product knowledge within the conveyor business, additional construction experience preferred
  • Strong technical understanding, acting as an Allrounder handling the full project lifecycle
  • Professional experience in managing, developing and building up a distributor network in the Middle East
  • Great self-organizer with a structured and flexible attitude
  • Fluent English language skills, additional Arabic language skills preferred
  • Team player personality with excellent intercultural skills
  • Knowledge and/or network within system integrators would be an added value
  • Solutions-oriented and problem-solving skills with a customer-oriented mindset
  • Hands-on, ambitious & driven mentality 
  • Willingness to travel within the GCC region
