Our German client is a global market leader and producer of complex industrial machinery. Over the last years, the company has successfully developed its MEA headquarters in Dubai and its MEA Growth Strategy. Currently, more than 18.000 employees work in entities worldwide. As Internal Auditor / Governance Representative, you will implement and manage all functional governance systems and compliance matters within the MEA region.

 

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Implement and manage a functional governance system in all legal entities in the Middle East and Africa region
  • Business scope and business license, Articles of Association update, and management
  • Drafting, localizing, and consolidating the company governance policy
  • Communication of governance-relevant topics, such as communication of the Integrity System, new policies, targets, templates, forms and more
  • First point of contact for all matters relating to company law (committee work, granting of powers of attorney, authorizations to sign and represent, other governance documents, etc.)
  • Organization, implementation, and documentation of compliance and anti-corruption training
  • Lead and conduct periodic anti-corruption monitoring activities each quarter
  • Supplier, client, and other third-party compliance, getting confirmation from suppliers as well as from clients
  • Anti-corruption and non-conflict-of-interest issue management
  • Audit inspection in MEA based on the framework audit plan, and coordinate the individual audit subjects with the Head of Corporate Governance
  • Perform inspections following the plan agreed with management
  • Communicate findings by transferring know-how
  • Coordinate audit activities with the auditing company and external auditors
  • Ad-hoc audit request from the Head of Corporate Governance
  • Reports technically and functionally to the Head of Corporate Governance in Germany, as well as disciplinary to the Managing Director MEA

 

To be successful in this role, you should have the following skills and experiences:

  • Bachelor's and/or Masters Degree, either in Engineering or Business Administration
  • At least 5 years of working experience in a comparable industry or as an auditor at the main audit companies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English language, German is an advantage (not a must)
  • Ability to learn, analytical skills, presentation skills, creativity, flexibility, assertiveness, motivational skills
  • Experience navigating matrix organizational structures and adapting to diverse corporate cultures
  • Self-confident appearance, personality with moral integrity
  • Local basic legal knowledge as well as requirements, trends, overview, etc. in the region on governance and compliance topics
  • Ability to communicate governance topics to employees/communication skills
  • Strategic, analytical way of working
  • Independent and proactive character
  • Willingness to travel extensively in the MEA region and globally if required
