Our client is a group of companies operating in six sectors, e.g. Manufacturing, Construction, Real Estate. The company’s business model is based on Supply Chain as well as Value Chain Management with its main objective to provide turnkey solutions to Africa's economy by building fully furnished and appliance-integrated homes across the continent.

 

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Become a part of our clients unique journey by living, creating and establishing the group’s mission whilst significantly contributing to the globalization of the company
  • Develop a long-term vision for the function, ensuring all current and future operational needs are met
  • Establish oversee operational systems, processes, and infrastructure whilst looking for opportunities of continuous improvement or revision
  • Anticipate and track operational and tactical risks and provide strategic solutions
  • Lead the Operations Department by balancing the responsibilities of various business lines such as business analysis, vendor and risk management
  • Identify areas of highest impact across the company, partner with key stakeholders to define engagement scopes, build comprehensive strategies to solve the underlying business issues, and put the right people in the in suitable positions to execute accordingly
  • Play a significant role in long-term planning, project status reporting, and implementing change control processes
  • Work closely with Project Management Consultants on special planning and departmental projects
  • Responsible for ensuring all operations across the portfolio are conducted to the highest standards of integrity and ethics, in compliance with all applicable laws and customer requirements as well as implemented and understood in terms of quality and HSE policies
  • Complete reasonability testing and information validation prior to circulating findings and recommendations to key stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain credible, professional relationships with clients, internal business lines, and external vendors
  • Support training programs, reinforcing tech and operations infrastructure between departments to ensure consistency and quality standards are achieved
  • Stay up to date on industry regulations, trends, and technology
  • Drive effective and high-quality execution of organizational strategy, ensuring that internal operational practices (inclusive of traditional finance, operations, people, legal, and IT) are aligned to the organizational values and priorities
  • Be a reliable partner and coach for senior leadership by providing support and accountability as well as by encouraging excellence and collaboration across the organization
  • Oversee and report weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics
  • Report to and directly collaborate with the Chairnan & Group CEO

To be successful in this role you should have the following skills and experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Operations Management
  • Minimum of 10 years of recent overall Operations Management experience
  • Professional working experience in a company group with multiple sectors is a requirement
  • Project Management experience throughout the African region would be an added value
  • Proven track record of having led effective organizational systems, process, transformation, and change management to drive strategic value and impact
  • Ability to organize, manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in creating, implementing and managing structured but flexible processes across a diverse organization
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with diverse audiences
  • German language skills would be an added value
  • Strategical and results-driven personality with cultural sensitivity
