Job Description

Our client is an international manufacturer of consumer electronics on a high quality level with globally known brands. As Approbation Manager, you will ensure targets by fulfilling approbation and product compliance requirements for the region Middle East. You will follow up on markets requirements for electrical appliances and trade barriers in Middle East, keep up to date on the requirements of countries part of the subsidiary and control, optimize and ensure proper budget management of approbations.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure approbation and compliance requirements for the region Middle East
  • Coordinate and update for registration on products specifications and compliance to technical, safety and performance requirements
  • External collaboration with different national standardization organizations
  • Adequate coordination with factories, product managers on products specifications and compliance
  • Ensure an all-time alignment with technical and market requirements for the complete range of products
  • Discuss and establish a network with factories on matters regarding safety, approbation and performance
  • Follow up on markets requirements for electrical appliances and trade barriers in Middle East
  • Keep track and control of certifications and renewal needs of a portfolio
  • Coordinate with different approved test laboratories for testing, approbation and product registrations
  • Align global testing agreements with HQ, supporting the decision making of test labs
  • Ensure the proper project management of testing renewals, including samples, ordering, delivery, testing, results compliance and new registrations
  • Source test reports and certificates from factories according to range and maintenance of technical documents
  • Close contacts with factory contact points, in order to keep up to date a database of safety and reports
  • Provide required technical documents to other regional parties whenever needed
  • Consolidate technical documentation before the expiry date, managing a portfolio of products, applied to the main types of certifications
  • Ensure sales objectives by fulfilling sales targets – arrange an up to date risk analysis and lead the sales as a solution provider
  • Connect with product managers, supporting and guiding into the needs and requirements in the region and impact on the product portfolio
  • Ensure the needs for specific variant creations as per labeling requirements
  • Reporting to the Head of Product Marketing

 

To be successful in this role you should have the following skills and experiences:

  • University degree in business administration, engineering, public policy, or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience as Approbation / Certification Manager in the home application industry
  • Based in the UAE with first local working experience
  • Experience working with local government and customs authorities
  • Proven record of cross-category approbation process management in different countries
  • Good understanding of complex technical details
  • Excellent English language skills
  • Working knowledge with MS Office
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking
  • Team player
  • Independent working approach and motivated self-starter
