Job Description

Our German client is a manufacturer of industrial automation equipment for the petrochemical, chemical, and oil&gas industry. The company has had a presence in Saudi Arabia for over 20 years and is now seeking to develop the market further. As Regional Sales Engineer, you will sell and promote products and services in Saudi Arabia, maintain and build strong customer relations and develop business opportunities. With a solid technical and sales background, you will drive sales operations to success and support in establishing a stronger presence in KSA.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Introduce and explain to customers about product and service portfolio
  • Conduct sales and marketing presentations of products and services, follow-up with customers on a regular basis
  • Own and exceed annual sales targets within assigned territory
  • Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and to expand the company’s customer base
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations
  • Understand category-specific landscapes and trends, reporting on the forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts
  • Seek out new customers, and sales opportunities to help grow the customer base
  • Entertain customers and travel extensively for product promotion
  • Make efficient use of all available marketing tools
  • Follow-up with customers for outstanding payments
  • Provide support on a case to case basis in due consultation with the Line Manager

 

To be successful in this role you should have the following skills and experiences:

  • University degree in Engineering with Instrumentation, Electronic, Control Systems or Advanced engineering, additional degree/diploma in Marketing & Sales Management an advantage
  • At least 5 years of proven sales experience in the automation industry in the petrochemical / oil & gas field
  • Experience of working with SABIC and petrochemical companies is an advantage
  • Working experience in the Middle East, preferably with the Saudi Arabian market and/or customers
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
  • Good customer service and excellent marketing skills with technical knowledge
  • Demonstrable experience in developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions
  • Excellent English language skills, Arabic language skills are an advantage
  • Knowledge in MS Office applications and CRM tools
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Effective team working skills and integrity
