This is a unique opportunity to take on the UAE leadership position of an established and fast-growing manufacturer in the construction industry. You will work closely with the leadership in Germany, and maintain and grow a strong market presence for the company in the UAE. This is a multi-faceted role that encompasses sales and business development as well as overseeing corporate functions (e.g. design, administration, finance, HR, IT). The primary responsibility of this position is to direct all aspects of its Middle Eastern activities. This position requires a hands-on, strong team leader and integrator with exceptional cross-functional leadership experience within the formworks market.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and activities in the Middle East
  • Provide leadership and vision and participate in the development and execution of mid- and long-term plans, priorities and goals to consistently meet or exceed overall business objectives
  • Oversee and lead as example in sales, marketing, business development and revenue generation activities
  • Identify opportunities by evaluating key participants, competitive landscape, as well as industry and technology trends
  • Direct all administrative activities of the company including accounting, finance/budgeting, human resources and IT
  • Provide proactive leadership, professional development and mentoring for the UAE team
  • Cultivate and maintain a positive and productive team-based environment in order to achieve optimum results
  • Regularly evaluate processes to drive improvement initiatives
  • Manage relationships at multiple levels and disciplines
  • Develop and maintain a deep knowledge of the markets, the industry and the individual key players who drive / influence investment decisions
  • Support and participate in local and global trade fairs, conferences, etc.
  • Represent the organization in important external business relationships with major clients, joint venture partners and the public
  • Interface regularly with the European headquarters and its international channels and cooperate closely with the colleagues of the global management team, including for sales pipeline development, forecasting, key account status, market condition updates, and general activity reports
  • Report to Global Strategy Director  in Germany

To be successful in this role you should have the following skills and experiences:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  • At least 10 years of leadership experience in sales management, business development and/or key account management coupled with general management capacity
  • Experience with formwork systems and previous leadership in a multi-channel sales environment
  • Budget management and P&L responsibility
  • Strong knowledge of the targeted markets and applications as well as an existing network of industry contacts in relevant industries
  • Hands-on experience within the construction industry, experience in the Rental-Business (within the construction industry) would be a plus
  • Excellent sales-related skills set, including knowledge of sales process, ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies, establish comprehensive sales proposals and negotiate complex contracts
  • Demonstrated success in developing, implementing and driving processes, procedures and policies
  • Strong experience dealing with the business aspects of running a sales and distribution
  • Sound understanding of commercial business practices and the ability to align sales and operational activities to support greater organizational objectives
  • Direct experience working across diverse cultures with previous experience working for German-owned companies considered a clear advantage
  • Must exhibit a high level of project management, organizational, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to communicate complex business issues in a concise manner and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent business judgment and planning skills, including the ability to assess the reasonableness and likelihood of success of various business alternatives
