The company is represented on all continents with 24 subsidiaries and 2,500 employees worldwide. For its Middle Eastern subsidiary, the company is seeking to employ a General Manager who increases the market share in the region in all three product categories. The General Manager should have a good understanding of German family-owned companies combined with a strong network and market experience in the Middle East.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute the company’s Middle Eastern business strategies in order to attain the goals of the Board and shareholders
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement by planning cost-effective operations and market development activities
  • Promote the brand in the Middle East and achieve significant market share growth
  • Communicate and maintain trust relationships with shareholders, business partners and authorities
  • Oversee the company’s financial performance, investments and other business ventures
  • Act as the Public Relations representative of the company in ways that strengthen its profile
  • Analyze challenging situations and occurrences and provide solutions
  • Analyze opportunities for growth in market segments to drive profitability and achieves such results
  • Provide sales and marketing strategies for all business segments in the region
  • Active handling of Key Accounts in the dedicated markets
  • Develop and implement strategic marketing&sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services
  • Plan and oversee advertising and promotion activities
  • Develop and recommend product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share
  • Ensure effective control of marketing results, and take corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets
  • Monitor competitor products, sales and marketing activities
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners
  • Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales and areas of proposed client base expansion
  • Provide direction and leadership for safety, compliance, risk management and environmental matters
  • Regular reporting to the Board of Directors in the German headquarters

To be successful in this role you should have the following skills and experiences:

  • University degree in engineering, technical, or related field
  • At least 7 years of working experience in a leadership position in the Middle East
  • Proven track in technical sales in the Middle Eastern region
  • Working experience in a German family-owned business would be advantageous
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); German language skills are an added value
  • Strong communication skills combined with the ability to communicate with governmental institutions
  • Strong hands on mentality combined with cultural understanding
  • Patience and ability to deal with different requirements through all three business sectors
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
  • Talent to motivate and guide the team, creating a strong team spirit
  • Organized and structured personality
  • Willingness to travel across the Middle Eastern region
