Our German client is a leading provider of IT and engineering solutions to the public transportation sector. As Regional Sales Manager, you will strategically develop the Australian and New Zealand market covering a very unique and intelligent product portfolio. Our client offers challenging tasks and responsibilities in a successful team with a pleasant working atmosphere and the opportunity for personal and professional growth. Ideally, the successful candidate will work in Brisbane, Queensland. However, the company is open to a remote working arrangement for candidates with significant public transit experience and a proven track record of working from home.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Conduct strategic business development and well-coordinated sales activities throughout the Australian and New Zealand market
- Independently locate, develop, define, negotiate and close business opportunities across the region
- Establish market strategies and gather requirements in order to identify partners and subcontractors
- Understand customer business drivers, strategy, challenges and decision processes within the intelligent public transit sector
- Develop and deliver customer specific sales and marketing concepts according to revenue and growth targets through close cooperation with the regional headquarter
- Demonstrate success in building business throughout long sales cycles whilst identifying and solving customer's pain points
- Generate new sales opportunities through different approaches and grow current accounts and channel partners
- Identify customer needs by conducting market research and analysis whilst also observing competition activities
- Carry out workshops, marketing activities, online conferences and participate in industry exhibitions
- Closely collaborate with the Senior Director
To be successful in this role you should have the following skills and experiences:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience within the technologies for the public transit/transport sector
- Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience within the public transport sector and its selling cycle
- Strong sales and business development exposure throughout the markets of Australia and New Zealand
- Team player mentality with the ability to think strategic in order to sell value over price
- Demonstrate strong entrepreneurial thinking and a high level of commercial understanding
- Proven track record in generating and managing pipelines to ensure that sales targets are achieved
- Professional, self-motivated, technologically driven and dynamic business approach
- Extensive communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to travel (travel estimated between 50% - 75%)
