For our client, a leading German-based retail company operating internationally, we are searching for a Finance Manager. With a long-standing heritage in the retail industry, the organization supplies and manages a wide range of premium products. It operates both as a retailer and distributor, maintaining partnerships with major global brands while delivering tailored retail experiences. As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of the financial activities of the organization to ensure financial stability, driving growth, and supporting overall business objectives in the MEA region.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Manage financial accounting, working capital, cash flow, budgeting, and annual statements per regional/global standards
- Ensure financial control via forecasting, reporting, and proactive planning
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements under local GAAP
- Handle shareholder reporting per IFRS and German GAAP (HGB)
- Develop financial policies, ensure regulatory compliance, and liaise with auditors, tax authorities, banks, and government entities
- Act as main contact for shareholders, auditors, and tax consultants
- Provide financial guidance and monitor KPIs and overall performance
- Lead budgeting and financial planning processes
- Align financial strategy with broader business objectives in coordination with the executive team
- Present financial data and prepare reports for executive and board-level review
- Oversee accounting, settlements, fee submissions, and manage banking and insurance contracts
- Maintain strong internal controls and risk management systems
- Ensure accurate transaction mapping in financial accounting
- Oversee all tax, customs, and compliance reporting from the finance function
- Lead and empower the finance team with clear goals and continuous communication
- Interfaces include all internal departments, regional finance teams, banks, tax agents, and regulatory authorities
To be successful in this role, you should have the following skills and experiences:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred
- At least seven years in finance management, ideally in retail or in international trading businesses
- Familiarity with UAE tax laws and financial regulations, and compliance
- Experience working with stakeholders at various levels in an international context
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Comfortable in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- Team-oriented with strong collaboration and communication capabilities
- Very good command of English
- Expertise in financial analysis, accounting, reporting, and risk management
- Proficient in financial software and MS Office, especially Excel
- Experienced with ERP systems, preferably SAP
