Our client, a renowned Chinese listed company, is a pioneer in the mechanical sealing industry, providing cutting-edge solutions for a diverse range of applications. Established in 1978, the company has become synonymous with innovation, quality, and reliability, and has steadily expanded its presence in key global markets. As part of their strategic growth plans, they are now seeking a highly skilled Regional Sales Manager (m/f/d) to spearhead their expansion efforts in the Middle East, with a primary focus on the oil & gas and petrochemical industries.

The Regional Sales Manager will be the first locally based representative in the Middle East, stationed in Dubai, and will play a crucial role in establishing and developing sales channels within the region. This role is vital for building strong relationships with key industry players, driving business development, and enhancing market presence in the oil & gas and petrochemical sectors. Reporting directly to the Director of International Business, the Regional Sales Manager will be at the forefront of our client’s regional strategy.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics in the mechanical seals and rotating equipment sectors across the Middle East
  • Develop and execute comprehensive business strategies aimed at achieving ambitious sales targets and expanding market share in the region
  • Build and maintain robust relationships with key stakeholders, including EPC companies, compressor manufacturers, and major industrial players in the oil & gas and petrochemical industries
  • Oversee the complete sales process, from prospecting and lead generation to negotiation, closing deals, and ensuring successful project implementation and customer satisfaction
  • Drive brand recognition by registering the company on the qualified suppliers' list of target customers and participating in industry events, trade fairs, and other relevant forums
  • Provide in-depth knowledge and support on mechanical seals and related products, collaborating closely with technical teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet customer requirements
  • Offer product training and support to clients and internal sales teams to enhance product knowledge and sales effectiveness
  • Prepare detailed reports on sales activities, market trends, and business development initiatives, providing valuable insights to inform strategic decisions
  • Represent the company at trade fairs and other relevant venues for customer interaction in the region
  • Work closely with the Director of International Business and other regional teams to ensure alignment on market strategies and business goals

To be successful in this role you should have the following skills and experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Proven track record in sales or business development within the rotating equipment business across the Middle East 
  • Strong understanding of mechanical seals and the according industry standards and trends 
  • Extensive exposure within the oil & gas and/or petrochemical industries
  • Demonstrated experience in driving revenue growth, achieving sales targets, and expanding market share
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners
  • Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential, additional language skills such as Hindi, Arabic or Chinese would be an added value
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the Middle East and to Europe as needed
