Our European client is a leading international manufacturer and solutions provider specialising in construction chemicals, used across residential, commercial, and industrial applications. With a strong legacy of quality, innovation, and sustainability, the organisation has established a significant presence across the Middle East and continues to expand its operations within the Sultanate of Oman.
In this dynamic growth environment, the Technical Sales Consultant – Oman will promote and specify products with Projects, Specifiers, Governments, Ministries, Private Sectors, Consultants, and Architects at the site and ensure that the product range is specified either as a system for approval or be in the vendor list, for upcoming projects.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Support Project Sales in implementing short- and long-term specification plans aligned with company objectives
- Assist in managing and facilitating project approval processes
- Build and maintain relationships with architects, consultants, developers, real estate companies, ministries, and key stakeholders
- Identify and track ongoing and upcoming projects
- Coordinate with customers to prepare technical documents and submittals
- Promote and demonstrate products to increase customer awareness and technical understanding
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to management
- Support Sales team in securing technical approvals through coordination with site stakeholders
- Respond promptly to client inquiries and maintain strong customer relationships
- Liaise with commercial and technical contractors to gain product approvals
- Analyze industry information and coordinate with marketing through conferences and seminars
- Prepare weekly and monthly status reports with recommendations
- Implement corrective actions based on management feedback
- Coordinate internally to ensure smooth execution of the specification process
- Handle specification support for assigned sectors with no financial responsibility
To be successful in this role, you should have the following skills and experiences:
- Academic background in business, sales, engineering, or a related field
- 3–6 years of technical sales or specification experience, preferably in construction materials, paints, coatings, or building solutions
- Exposure to the retail channel and distributor-based sales environments
- Good understanding of the Omani market, including customers, distribution structures, and construction activity
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Experience using CRM systems and basic sales reporting tools
- Self-motivated, hands-on, and comfortable working independently within a structured organisation
- Solid analytical skills with an understanding of sales targets, margins, and basic forecasting
