As part of this dynamic team, the Legal Counsel (m/f/d) assumes a critical responsibility in navigating legal complexities, mitigating risks, and facilitating seamless project execution. This role not only demands legal expertise but also requires exceptional interpersonal skills and strategic acumen to thrive in such dynamic environment.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Provide comprehensive legal support to tender teams across Oman, UAE, and Qatar, including meticulous review and strategic guidance on tender documents, contracts, pre-tender agreements, and joint venture agreements
  • Offer astute legal counsel throughout the lifecycle of ongoing construction projects, encompassing build-only, design & build, turnkey projects, and potential PPP initiatives, ensuring meticulous legal analysis during project execution and adept support in public procurement procedures
  • Oversee corporate housekeeping for Middle East Group companies, demonstrating proficiency in preparing PoAs, drafting board resolutions, and maintaining vigilance over legal developments, while effectively disseminating pertinent information internally
  • Assume a leadership role in facilitating dispute resolution processes, specializing in international arbitration, and guiding the resolution of disputes through various channels, whether international institutions or local entities, with an unwavering commitment to legal excellence
  • Engage in negotiations with clients, consortium partners, advisors, and subcontractors, leveraging expertise to achieve favorable outcomes and mitigate legal risks, while orchestrating the tendering, selection, and coordination of external legal advisors
  • Demonstrate a keen eye for detail in drafting and reviewing a spectrum of agreements crucial to construction projects, including project agreements, construction contracts, design agreements, supply contracts, financing agreements, and advisory contracts
  • Exemplify dedication to internal housekeeping matters, offering invaluable legal support and guidance as needed, and ensuring adherence to regulatory compliance standards and best practices
  • Closely collaborate with the Legal Department to achieve effectiveness and optimal business results

To be successful in this role you should have the following skills and experiences:

  • University degree in Law, or a related field
  • Demonstrated proficiency in navigating complex legal frameworks within the construction industry, showcasing a deep understanding of construction law principles, contract management, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Proven track record of exercising sound judgment and strategic thinking in legal decision-making
  • Ability to adapt swiftly to evolving project dynamics and regulatory landscapes
  • Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills, honed through successful collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including clients, consortium partners, advisors, and subcontractors, fostering enduring professional relationships built on trust and mutual respect
  • Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken, is essential
  • Strong organizational acumen and attention to detail, evidenced by the meticulous drafting and review of contractual agreements
