The Business Development Manager (m/f/d) for Lighting Controls and Building Automation in the Middle East with a focus on Saudi Arabia is responsible for driving sales growth, developing strategic partnerships and expanding market presence in the Kingdom. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, managing customer relationships and working with internal teams to deliver innovative solutions tailored to the specific needs of the Saudi Arabian market and regulatory environment. The position reports to the Director Sales and Marketing MENA and is based in Dubai with the option to relocate to Saudi Arabia if required and decided by the company. 

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape in the lighting control and building automation industry across the Middle East with a focus on Saudi Arabia
  • Develop and execute strategic business plans aimed at achieving sales targets and expanding market share
  • Key Account Management towards key wholesalers and/or key customer groups, building up a sales representative network
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, participation in industry events and a multichannel customer acquisition approach
  • Oversee the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation to negotiation, closing deals, and ensuring successful project implementation
  • Cultivate and sustain relationships with key stakeholders, including distributors, contractors, developers, and facility managers
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to potential clients, highlighting the advantages and features of our clients' lighting control and building automation solutions portfolio
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in lighting control and building automation technologies
  • Provide product training and directly support clients and internal sales teams
  • Collaborate closely with the existing team in Dubai to ensure alignment on product offerings and promotional strategies
  • Prepare detailed reports on sales activities, market trends, and business development initiatives
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape, providing timely updates and guidance to the organization
  • Analyze sales data to identify areas for improvement and growth opportunities 
  • Closely collaborate with the Director Sales and Marketing MENA

To be successful in this role you should have the following skills and experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven track record in business development within Saudi Arabia's electrical industry, specifically in lighting control, building automation, or a similar sector
  • Strong understanding of lighting control systems, building automation technologies, and industry standards
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain robust relationships with clients and partners
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software
  • Knowledge of IoT (Internet of Things) and smart building technologies
  • Experience with energy management systems and sustainable building practices
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to building automation and lighting control in Saudi Arabia
  • Demonstrated experience in driving revenue growth, and achieving sales targets
  • Flexibility to travel as required within the Middle East
