Our German client is a leading manufacturer of premium steel doors, specializing in both fire-rated and non-fire-rated solutions. With a reputation for precision, safety, and reliability, the company serves diverse industries and high-profile projects. To support the growth, they are seeking an experienced Production Manager with strong expertise in steel door manufacturing to oversee production operations. The Production Manager will be responsible for the full production lifecycle, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with international standards. This role requires hands-on leadership, technical know-how in fire-rated and non-fire-rated steel doors, and the ability to manage operations in a fast-paced environment.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Oversee day-to-day production of fire-rated and non-fire-rated steel doors
- Ensure compliance with international standards, fire-rating certifications, and client specifications
- Plan, implement, and monitor production schedules to achieve on-time delivery
- Drive process improvements, resource optimization, and waste reduction
- Lead, mentor, and develop the production team to maintain high performance
- Enforce quality control systems and corrective action plans
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Collaborate with design, engineering, procurement, and sales to align production with customer requirements
- Track, analyze, and report production KPIs, costs, and efficiency metrics
- Oversee machine park maintenance and coordinate with suppliers to ensure equipment reliability and uptime
- Plan and manage the workforce distribution across workstations to maximize efficiency and output
- Provide ongoing training and skill development to the production workforce to strengthen capabilities and performance
To be successful in this role, you should have the following skills and experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred
- Proven track record as a Production Manager in steel door manufacturing (fire-rated & non-fire-rated essential)
- Strong knowledge of fire-rating standards, quality systems, and manufacturing processes
- Experience with lean manufacturing, process optimization, and cost control
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communicator with strong reporting and cross-functional collaboration skills
