Our client is a mechanical systems manufacturer driving performance and efficiency across energy and process industries. With advanced global operations, it develops high-efficiency rotating machinery and fluid systems for international clients, focusing on innovation and long-term project partnerships.
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical & System Engineer (m/f/d) to take a leading role in the design and delivery of customized mechanical system solutions for complex international industrial projects. This position requires a high level of technical responsibility and offers the opportunity to translate client specifications into efficient, compliant, and high-performance system designs.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:

Developing and preparing technical documentation, layout drawings and specification packages for complex mechanical and fluid systems

Designing complete process units, including layout planning, pipe routing (with insulation and heat tracing), valve configuration, pressure and flow control elements, instrumentation, explosion protection and structural supports

Performing technical calculations to determine system design, component sizing and material selection in line with international standards (e.g., ASME, EN, AD2000)

Reviewing supplier and subcontractor documentation to ensure full compliance with mechanical and hydraulic performance criteria

Serving as the key technical contact within the project team, closely cooperating with project management, electrical engineering, procurement and quality departments

Supporting tender preparation, feasibility assessments and cost evaluations based on technical specifications and client requirements

Planning and supervising system function tests and supporting the commissioning team with engineering expertise during final project stages

Coordinating with customers, suppliers and subcontractors to align on technical details and resolve interface issues throughout the project lifecycle

Ensuring that all technical activities meet safety, quality and operational standards across disciplines and stakeholders

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering or a comparable technical field

Several years of experience in mechanical system design, engineering project execution or process system development

Strong knowledge of piping systems, rotating equipment, auxiliary units and mechanical integration

Experience in handling engineering packages for large-scale technical projects, ideally in energy, infrastructure or fluid system industries

Familiarity with common design and calculation tools (e.g., AutoCAD Inventor, MS Office, Visio, simulation/calculation tools)

Sound understanding of international engineering codes and regulations

High attention to detail, structured working approach and ability to manage multiple priorities under time constraints

Excellent communication and coordination skills in English; German is considered an asset

Team player with a proactive mindset and readiness to engage in international, cross-functional project environments

Willingness to travel within the Middle East and occasionally to Europe for project-related activities
