Our European client is a leading international provider of automation and safety solutions for industrial processes. Renowned for innovation and reliability, the company has a strong presence in the Middle East and is now expanding its operations in Oman.

The Country Manager will lead and grow the company’s business in Oman, taking full accountability for commercial performance, market development and operational excellence. This role calls for a results-oriented leader with a strategic mindset, strong commercial acumen and a hands-on approach to managing sales, finance, operations as well as project execution. The ideal candidate brings an entrepreneurial spirit, deep industry knowledge and practical experience in automation systems. With the ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities, the Country Manager (m/f/d) will drive sustainable growth while ensuring compliance with local regulations and corporate standards.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement country-level strategies that align with regional and global objectives
  • Identify and pursue growth opportunities to ensure sustainable business performance
  • Lead business development initiatives to strengthen market presence and competitive position
  • Oversee project execution, ensuring quality, safety, timelines, and budgets are met
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and service teams to optimize efficiency and resources
  • Ensure compliance with international standards and local regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets, monitor financial performance, and drive cost-effective operations
  • Build and lead a high-performing team, providing coaching, mentorship, and succession planning
  • Maintain and expand relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders
  • Represent the company in industry events, negotiations, and stakeholder engagements
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to safeguard business continuity

To be successful in this role, you should have the following skills and experiences:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Automation, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering or infrastructure sectors, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership position
  • Proven track record in managing P&L responsibility and leading large teams
  • Strong understanding of local business regulations, labor law, and applicable industry standards in Oman
  • Experience working in project-based business environments within the automation sector
  • Ability to develop and communicate a clear strategic vision that supports long-term business goals
  • Excellent communication skills in English; additional language skills in Hindi or Arabic are an advantage
  • High adaptability and the ability to drive change in dynamic market environments
  • Comfort working in multicultural teams with strong cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Strong commitment to safety, integrity, and ethical business conduct
